Welcome to my blog!

Updated: Jan 15, 2023

For those of you who don't know me, here's a little bit about me...

I'm Becky, co-owner of Busy Beans Coffee. I live in a small village outside of Manchester with my husband Danny (who is also my business partner), two children and our dog Milo. I've been baking for over 10 years but didn't truly find my passion for it until owning the coffee shop. I studied English Literature and Creative Writing at The University of Manchester, shout-out to my lecturers - look at me finally using my degree! We set up our own business with our teeny bean machine and headed out to events. (You can read more about this here). I love singing in the kitchen, getting lost in a good book and most of all going on adventures with the children.

To begin with I wanted to say a bit about why I've started this blog. I always feel like I go way over the unspoken word-count on our Instagram posts and I'm becoming aware that it's not the time or place for that, this is why I could never get the hang of Twitter. I love to write and for years I've joked that one day I'll write a recipe book. Then it came to me that blogging could bridge that gap. I get to ramble on and you guys get recipes, inspiration and information. It's really a win-win for us all!

I'm aiming for new entries to be uploaded each month on a Sunday, because I feel that blogs should be read on Sunday mornings in bed with a coffee and cinnamon buns. Feel free to read whenever you like though, no judgement here, unless you skip the coffee. I'm hoping that this can be a little community space where you will feel motivated to try new recipes and recreate your much loved bakes from our coffee shop. I also hope that you will find it useful, therefore if you want to ask me anything or ask me to cover a specific topic I would be absolutely delighted to hear what you have to say! I really love connecting with people and I appreciate all the love and support we have received so far on our journey. I'm super excited for you to join me on this next step and I hope you find it interesting.
